My turn for snacks tonight. Some of the Moms take turns supplying the young adults in our church with something to eat after their Sunday evening study. My turn!

Sandwich roll-ups are easy to do and fun to eat. And then the tray can be decorated with all kinds of things as ‘extras’ for the group to enjoy.
½ a lb. of ham and ½ a lb. of turkey from the deli along with Muenster and Swiss (I found 8 oz. packages of each on sale at Kroger’s for .99 each—what-a-deal).
A stop by the local Middle Eastern market to get some soft lavash bread and I’m set.
I spread the large sheets of lavash out on the kitchen and spread the bread with either softened butter (for the ham) or mayonnaise (for the turkey. The meat got spread in a single layer over half of the bread and slices of cheese over the rest of the piece of lavash. I dotted everything with mustard….not too much. Spread some very thin tomato slices over a portion of the sheet of lavash and then scattered small leaves of soft lettuce over the rest.

Each sheet got rolled up (I started with a small side to form thicker rolls but you could do the long if you wanted smaller rolls and more of them). Then I cut the roll into 1-½ inch pieces and stuck a wooden toothpick in the side to make it easy to handle.
I went out in my garden and cut marjoram to spread out in the pan and build the sandwich tray on.
Then I decorated with Persian cucumber spears, cherry tomatoes, small sweet multi-colored peppers, pickled pepper rings and a big bunch of green grapes in the center.

A bag of Nacho flavored Doritos on the side and the group would be happy and well fed. When you’re in your 20’s—that’s what’s important.
